Who doesn't know the X-Men? This is one of Marvel's strongest comic franchise and the series that catapulted my all time favorite comic artist, Jim Lee, to Galactus' arse. I remember collecting the complete Uncanny X-Men. I love Jim's style, the way he drew faces and re-vamped the team's look. This had a huge impact on how I draw today. Here is a tribute to Jim Lee and his X-Men.
After The Little Mermaid set I felt that I had to continue and finish all Disney animated film renaissance for no apparent reason. So expect more Disney KBies. Enjoy! and be our guest.
This animated film started everything for me. When I saw this for the first time, it was then that I realized what I wanted to become when I grow up, not to be a mermaid silly! but to be an artist. I was fascinated with animation since then. I love how Disney breath life and magic to their character design, I love how they bend storyline making it look like it's their own and selling it to non-suspecting kids. I'm a fan of traditional animation and will always be.
As an artist I am greatly influenced by Walt Disney. I grew
up as watching classic Disney cartoons mostly dubbed in Nippon-go. Back then, I had no access in Disney TV
shows here in Manila and I only relied on recorded videotapes sent from Japan from
my Mom. I never understood what Mickey was saying but, I sure did enjoy the
art, funny antics and how he was designed and animated. Here is a tribute to
the most iconic mouse in the world.
